Maria Falina (*1982)

Maria Falina holds a Ph.D. in Comparative History of Central, Southeastern and Eastern Europe from the Central European University in Budapest, an MA in History from Lomonossov State University, Moscow, and an MA from the CEU, Budapest.

She was research fellow at the Institut für Europäische Geschichte, Mainz, Germany.

She has published studies on history of political ideas and political Orthodoxism in Serbia, most recently “Between ‘Clerical Fascism’ and Political Orthodoxy: Orthodox Christianity and Nationalism in Interwar Serbia” in: Totalitarian Movements & Political Religions, 8/2. Her main fields of interests are modern and contemporary European history, East- and Southeast European nationalism and Religious Studies.
